That’s a pretty bold statement, but I speak it from personal experience. There is something about serving in a foreign context that has a lasting effect on faith development, especially in teenagers. I read the bible differently and interacted with people differently after mission trips to Saltillo, Mexico (fifteen years ago) and Cairo, Egypt (ten years ago). Cairo was my first time off of the continent and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
This summer we are partnering with But God Ministries (BGM) based out of Mississippi who have been working in Haiti for seven years. They have two Hope Centers, one at Gallete Chambon and one at Thoman, with a nutrition center half-way between the Hope Centers. Each center has a medical clinic, resident missionaries, and a local school and church affiliation. We will ride up the mountain to Thoman to help Andrew and Laura serve the local community by working with kids and doing some light construction. Please pray for those attending this trip.
