“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” -1 John 3.16-18
We have been partnered with Pastor Freddie and Irma Garcia, through their ministry, Ebenezer Outreach Ministries. Their ministry covers Elsa, Texas, Nuevo Progresso, Mexico and into the interior of Mexico. It is mainly focused on the small villages and towns in the coastal mountain areas of Mexico. Pastor Freddie has overseen the building of homes, churches, medical clinics, as well as provided food, medicine, clothing and other basic necessities to people living in many areas of Mexico.
We take trips throughout the year. Future dates will be available Fall 2009.
“We are ruined for normal life! But is that so bad? We can no longer spend money, accumulate ‘stuff,’ or get rid of ‘stuff’ without immediately thinking things like, ‘That would pay for a month’s worth of diabetes medicine for Ms. Aurora,’ or ‘Wow, that would buy an entire cinderblock house for someone, ‘ or even, ‘I wonder if Victor or Jasmine would like that toy.’ We are all so much more thankful for the things we have and were reminded what true blessings they really are! -Debbie from Mexico '08
