Local & Global Mission Opportunities

2018 Global Mission TRIPS

This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside and serve the people of Romania. This trip involves working with children & students in the mornings, and visiting homes, serving in the community & preparing for evening activities each afternoon. We will have a number of opportunities to worship with different groups in the community. Ovidiu Patrick and his wife Adina will be our hosts & leaders. You will have excellent food & accommodations.

We will be extremely busy throughout the day seeing people, many who have walked several hours to see a doctor. Bart and Heather Carty are our hosts & leaders.

2018 NATIONAL TRIPS

COST OF THIS TRIP: APPROXIMATELY $450

We will be working with Park Slope Community Church led & hosted by Sterling & Jenna Edwards. These trips involve construction projects & working in the community. There are thousands of people within a one mile radius of the church, and less than five percent of them are Christians. These are excellent opportunities to help with building restoration while meeting and working with people of this community.

Costa Rica Men's Trip

Here is a recap from our 2018 Costa Rica Men's Trip.

Missions Videos | 2017

Romania

Our 2017 team shares some stories about what God is doing in Romania. Ministering to kids each day through vacation bible school and doing worship services each night brought our team into a deeper understanding of what it means to share your faith.

Costa Rica

Here is a recap from our 2017 Costa Rica Medical Trip. We brought some doctors and nurses along with several translators. We brought eye glasses and reading glasses to provide those in need. We've helped water the seeds of the Gospel that have been planted over the years.

Haiti

Here is a recap from our youth 2017 trip to Haiti. It was blessing to be able to build pure water systems to provide families with clean drinking water. We learn to be content when we see the needs of these children.

Mentor a Child

One child. One hour. Each week. That’s the simple commitment that is asked of anyone wanting to be a mentor to an at-risk elementary student at Oyster Creek Elementary. This gives you the opportunity to bring love and the life-changing claims of Christ into the lives of children.

The Landing

The Landing is a daytime drop-in center where survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation can experience an atmosphere of acceptance and be introduced to social support. Located on a nationally known hotspot for sex trafficking and prostitution in Houston, The Landing team assists survivors by meeting basic needs and sharing resources. Our intention is to meet people where they are—wherever that may be—and support them throughout their journey.

LifeHouse

LifeHouse is a Christ-centered ministry ensuring life for unborn children by providing opportunities for housing, help, and hope for young women during their pregnancies and beyond.

Volunteer at a Local School

We have partnerships with a number of our local schools: Mission West Elementary, Oyster Creek Elementary, Garcia Middle School and Austin High School. These partnerships include: mentoring students, supporting and encouraging the faculty throughout the year, and beautification projects.

Global Gates

We provide support for local missionaries who build relationships in the local Muslim communities. They welcome anyone who would like to be trained to work in this ministry.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica

Our church takes two trips each year to the mountains of Southern Costa Rica where we minister to the Guaymi Indians there in the village of Coopey Abajo. Our teams have ministered there by building a school, a church, and a home for a Guaymi family. We’ve also sent men to lead Pastor conferences, had various student trips where they lead VBS, taught music to young kids and organized soccer tournaments for them and their families. The past two years we’ve added a medical missions trip in which we were able to treat hundreds of patients in the village.

Bart and Heather Carty
Carty

The Cartys are members of Grand Parkway and have been called to God's mission in Central America. They desire to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Guaymi Indians in Costa Rica. Bart and Heather's vision is to reach the Guaymi by meeting simple physical needs of water, shelter, and food to help them understand that all they enjoy is from Jesus. Their long-term vision includes building a shelter for when the Guaymi come into civilized society for hospital visits or other needs. As of now, the Costa Rican population treats the Guaymi as less than human, and they are forced to stay on the streets for such visits.

Romania

Romania

Through our partnership with Red Page Ministries, we have traveled to this Eastern European nation to minister to orphans by participating in construction of the House of Joy (a local outreach center), as well as bringing the Good News of Jesus to local villages and churches. We travel to Romania each summer. This is a great opportunity to be stretched in new ways as you explore what God is doing for the people of Romania.

Ovidiu and Adina Patrick
Patrick

Romanian natives, Ovidiu and Adina’s ministry in Romania is three-layered: Ovidiu is the pastor of Revolution Church in the city of Lugoj; Adina is a social worker who heads up the humanitarian aid portion of their ministry. Together they run the House of Joy, an outreach center for their rural area of the country.
