Hilarious Sunday

December 16th

All Services

The practice of a Hilarious Sunday is taken from 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 which says, "The point is this:  whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

That word "cheerful" is the Greek word "hilaros" which is where we get our English word "hilarious," hence the name, Hilarious Sunday.

We are engaging in the process of building a new sanctuary because we believe it will allow us to accommodate what God is doing among us now as well as what He will continue to do in the future. The first step in this process is retiring some or all of our current debt. We do not cut ministry budgets in order to push everything towards debt.  Therefore, we will continue to fully fund all ministries and missions here at Grand Parkway.

We do not engage in guilt, manipulation or any other heavy-handed, fundraising shenanigans.  All we ask is that you pray, listen and obey.
