Ever felt like parenting has you in over your head? How refreshing to know that God is bigger! We may not have it all together, but God does!
Dedicating your child to the Lord is all about taking your hands off and trusting that God holds their life, future and salvation. Click the play button at the top of the page to get started.
Homework:
Write a “Please & Thank You” letter to God. Thank Him for specific things you love about your child. Thank Him for giving you the opportunity to be a mom or dad. Next, say “please.” Ask God to help you be the mom or dad He wants you to be. This letter is meant to stay personal. You do not need to turn it in.
God uses our kids to teach us. His fingerprints are all over our parenting journey. In the midst of all the “to-do’s” of parenting, God wants us to slow down and take special care of our souls. The most important job you have as a parent is to love Jesus.
The three most important things you can do as a parent:
- Love Jesus
- Love your spouse
- Pray for your child
Homework:
Write two sentence prayers and pick one Bible verse to pray for your child. Ex: “God, I pray that Jimmy would be full of your courage.”
“Jesus, I pray that Jimmy would be pure inside and out.”
“Jesus help Jimmy be full of the fruit of the Spirit. Fill him with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22
We will ask you for the Bible verse you picked in the final sign up form. This verse will be used to pray over your child during the Dedication service.
GPBC Kids will get an average of 40 hours a year with your child, and you’ll have over 3,000. You will always be the primary faith builder in your child’s life, and the local church will always partner with you to make that influence have far reaching potential.
GPBC Kids serves you as a parent in 3 major ways:
- Jesus on Their Level: Every week it’s our goal to create an environment where your child will meet Jesus on a level they can understand.
- Resourcing Parents: As your child grows up in GPBC Kids, the tools and resources available to you will grow. Each Sunday, every child is given a Take Home Sheet on their way out. Parents also receive a weekly e-mail with the lesson. We invite you to use these At-Home Resources to create spiritual rhythms at home.
- Church for You: GPBC Kids creates an environment for your baby or toddler so that you can have one or two undistracted hours where you can focus on growing your relationship with Jesus. It’s a win win! They aren’t bored and you aren’t distracted.
Homework:
Your homework for this session is ongoing. First, we ask you to check your child into GPBC Kids on a consistent basis so they can learn about Jesus on their level. Second, we ask you to consistently use the At-Home Resources provided to create a rhythm of talking about Jesus in your home.
