Our church is partnered with Nery's Promise in Richmond. Nery's heart is to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the children and families in her community who are in the midst of generational poverty. Her desire is to teach the children about Jesus through every contact she has with them.
On October 17th, we'll lead Bible study for the 50-75 children who come and also prepare and serve a nutritious warm meal. No previous experience required!
Oyster Creek Elementary is 1/2 mile from our church. Every one of the 800+ children who attend this school are in families who live right across the street from our church. We have been invited help with their annual carnival. We'll be manning the 40 fun booths so that teachers and parents can mingle and engage with their students. This is simple and fun and because we'll all be wearing Grand Parkway t-shirts, we will have a physical presence that just might require some explanation!
YOU MUST BE IN HIGH SCHOOL OR OLDER TO REGISTER.
Every Tuesday night, we have men and women from all over the world and from many different religions, who come to our campus to learn English. The volunteers host fellowships quarterly. On October 31, they'll have a fun night of food and games. They've asked that you come to have conversations with the students, to get to know them, and to help them practice conversational English. It is easy and fun! You'll be amazed at the brilliance and courage of these adults who strive to learn our language so that they can contribute meaningfully in America.
