Dallas Willard says that a disciple of Jesus is someone who “seriously intending to become like Jesus from the inside out, systematically and progressively rearranges their affairs to that end, under the guidance of the Word and the Spirit.” Just like a baby has to be taught to walk, a Christian needs to do the same. Discipleship is quite simply a practical way to learn to walk like Jesus.
