Job Title:  Missions Mobilizer/Pastor

Job Category/FLSA Status: Full Time/Pastoral Exempt

Accountability: Elders and Executive Pastor

Authority: Lay Volunteers

Position Description: Construct a missional framework that is both centripetal and centrifugal in that it draws people in and sends them out simultaneously. Use your gifts, skillset and priesthood to equip the people of Grand Parkway with a deeper, fuller and more biblical understanding of missions and the privilege of involvement in what God is doing to redeem the world. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Live a life worthy of imitation while loving and leading your family well.
  • Develop, shepherd and cast vision for the Missions Team which allows both lay involvement and development
  • Maintain a schedule that allows you to touch all the areas of your responsibility consistently
  • Collaborate with all staff so as to insure missions saturation in the life of our church
  • Develop on ramps where people can see a clear path to missions involvement
  • Nourish the current missional partnerships while expanding partnerships where needed
  • Develop annual ministry plans including goals and objectives for the ministry
  • Prepare, present and manage approved ministry budget
  • Attend weekly staff meetings and others meetings as needed

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree 

* 3-5 years of work experience and a work ethic

* Live a life that both traffics in and enjoys the Gospel

* Be in agreement with the doctrinal position of the church and able to sign its

  statement of beliefs without reservation while embracing the mission, vision and

  values of the church.

Equipment/Skills/Knowledge needed to perform job:

  • Live missionary such that missions is a natural expression of the head, heart and hand
  • Ability to provide leadership to those in the missions ministry
  • Ability to develop strategic and operational plans and effectively implement
  • Ability to clearly articulate a position and influence the decision of leaders, staff and volunteers. Said differently, cast a compelling vision people want to follow
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to build consensus
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Interpersonal skills which allow you to interface with staff, members and guests
  • Working knowledge of internal organizational structure
  • Ability to solve complex problems using practical, analytical and intuitive judgment
  • Ability to analyze information and situations to identify potential problems
  • Understand church business practices including budgeting finance and accounting
  • Develop proficiency in using membership software- Church Community Builder
  • Proficiency in use of Apple, Internet, and e-mail; knowledge of computer operations/ data processing systems
  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Measurable Expectations/Fiscal Responsibilities (quarterly reports, annual events) 

*  Manage fiscal activities within established budgetary levels

  • Prepare and present operational, financial and ministry report plans to direct report(s) and Elders

Mobility/Physical Demands

*  Employee must sit, stand and walk

*  Employee must talk and listen via face-to-face contact and telephone

*  Employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

Working Conditions/Environment (i.e., necessary travel, unusual hours, etc.)

*  Typical office and church ministry environment

*  Local, regional, and international travel as necessary

*  Work schedule may vary to respond to needs of the ministry and church.
